$100.00 in Google AdWords Advertising for FREE
Simply Click on the image above to be awarded a unique promotional code for your FREE $100.00.
Should you advertise your business using Google AdWords? Is it effective?
Yes! And I'm going to tell you why.
More than anything else, AdWords enables you to target the people who are searching for and ready to purchase the exact products or services you're selling right now. Often these people need little persuasion - they just need to know where to buy it.
That's just one reason why AdWords is so freaking cool. It puts your company and message in front of people who are ready (or very nearly ready) to buy.
Google AdWords isn't the only marketing channel or bit of technology that can help grow your business. You'll also want to invest your time and money in other key technologies to fuel your growth - such as remarketing, Facebook ads, your website, and tools to understand your target market, to name just a few.
But AdWords is your next big win. With a little effort and the right investment, you'll start attracting more prospects and customers, making more sales, and growing your business and revenues.
For more than 15 years, businesses of all types and sizes have realized the value of Google's advertising system.
Google is constantly adding new features and functions in an effort to improve their product. AdWords is so deep that you can literally do thousands of things.
Overwhelmed about where you should focus? Don't be. I'm going to tell you where you can get the biggest bang for your business.
Here are seven of the most powerful AdWords features from the last year or so.
1. Call-Only Campaigns
Call-Only ads are very much like the traditional pay-per-click (PPC) ads you see on Google's search results pages. The key difference is that these ad encourage people to call your business, rather than visit your website.
What's so amazingly powerful about Call-Only Campaign ads is that they are immediate. Google makes it super easy for potential customers to reach a business at the exact moment they want to do something, and also makes it easy for that business to capture the lead.
It's incredibly smart to allow hot prospects to simply call you, rather than sending them to a landing page. Call-Only Campaigns allow you to capture 100 percent of leads, rather than the 3 percent conversion rate, on average, you'd get from sending people to a landing page.
2. RLSA
Another incredibly valuable Google AdWords feature--especially for small businesses with a smaller advertising budget--is Remarketing Lists for Search Ads (RLSAs).
Basically, RLSAs let you target people who are already familiar with your brand (people who have visited your site and received a cookie) and searching Google using keywords you're bidding on. Talk about people who are ready to buy!
Your ads will cost less and result in more conversions. Win-win!
3. Customer Match
Customer Match is a featured I've called "THE most exciting AdWords update in the history of the platform." No hype. This is another way Google helps you reach people who already know your company - talk about low-hanging fruit!
Customer Match is an extremely efficient way to reach people on Search, Gmail, or YouTube. They will experience different ads based on their stage of their consumer journey (e.g., a prospect vs. an existing customer vs. a frequent buyer).
Simply upload a list of your prospects' email addresses, and then Google matches that list with customers who use Google products. I did an experiment and determined Customer Match had an excellent match rate of 50.4 percent.
4. Gmail ads
Gmail ads appear within the Promotions tab of Gmail, and target users based on their personal account activity.
One of the biggest keys to Gmail ads success is to write subject lines that will attract huge numbers of clicks - the more clicks you get, the less you'll pay.
Check out the performance data from your existing email marketing campaigns. Look for the ones with the highest open rates - your unicorns! - and use those for your Gmail Ads campaigns.
Keyword targeting is also incredibly powerful. Consider targeting the trademarks of your competitors to potentially steal some sales. If people are thinking about buying something from your competitor, that means they're also in the market for what you sell - they just might not know it yet!
5. YouTube ads
More than 6 billion hours of video are watched every month on YouTube. That makes YouTube a massive opportunity to reach your target audience. How?
Using YouTube's TrueView ads, you can reach your target audience as they're watching videos.
With TrueView videos you only pay when people view 30 seconds of your video ad (or if they otherwise engage, such as clicking on an overlay, banner, or card). If someone clicks on the "skip ad" button before your video ad finishes, you don't pay.
6. Custom affinity audiences
AdWords' custom affinity audiences is a Display Network feature that gives you the ability to target an predetermined group of people who are likely to be interested in your specific product or niche.
There are more than 80 options - from technophiles, to pet lovers, to sports fans, and so much more.
You can take this a step further with custom affinity segments, which lets you create your own subsets of each affinity audience. Google shared an example from Electronic Arts, which created 32 custom audiences to reach fans of specific NFL teams.
7. New AdWords app for iOS
In January, Google released the AdWords App for iOS, nearly an entire year after the app became available for Android users.
This helpful, complementary tool allows you to quickly manage your AdWords campaigns while you're on the move - you can change your keyword bids, and enable or disable campaigns, ads, and ad groups.
Essentially, AdWords for iOS has two helpful functions: it provides a way to handle the small stuff quickly, and acts as alert system to let you know which areas of your account need your attention when you can get on your PC or laptop.
Conclusion
To truly be successful, your company must be present in the places where people are looking for things (Google search) and spend so much time (YouTube, Gmail). If your company isn't there, chances are your competitors are.
Without a doubt, Google AdWords is extremely effective. AdWords can deliver more traffic from consumers who are more likely to convert or are ready to buy at this very moment.
Many businesses and brands have grown through AdWords over the past 15 years, and this will only continue this year. Start using these seven powerful features and you'll be well on your way to becoming the next AdWords success story!

What is Craigslist?
Craigslist is one of the world's most popular online marketplaces, but did you know that you can find a house to buy or rent on Craigslist? Interact with people all over the world in a variety of forums? Barter your services for something else? That's just the tip of the Craigslist iceberg. Here are a few more things you can do with Craigslist.
Craigslist Forums
With forums for housing to self-employment, you're sure to find a Craigslist Forum that helps you in some way.
Post Free Classified Ads
You can post free classified ads for pretty much anything on Craigslist. People from all over the world have sold cars, used clothes, furniture, and much more on this forum. It's free to post and images can be included in the post for better marketing.
Find a Job on Craigslist
There are all sorts of interesting jobs on Craigslist. Just find your city, look under Jobs, then look under your job category. Non-profit, systems, government, writing, etc. jobs are all represented here. In addition to full-time employment, part-time and freelance positions are also available.
Craigslist Housing
Use Craigslist to find your next home, from apartment living to residential listings to vacation rentals; not only in your local region but anywhere in the world Craigslist exists.
Subscribe to RSS Feeds
If you are looking for something specific, say a Queen Anne brocaded couch circa 1965, you can set up a Craigslist alert to be notified when something new pops up that fits your criteria. This is how you do it (note - this is an example case only; users should be able to do this for any search query):
Go to your city's Craigslist, and click on "Furniture."
Then enter your search term(s), what you're willing to pay, and whether you're looking for something from a furniture dealer or private seller.
When you're done, click "Enter."
Scroll to the bottom of the page.
You'll see an orange button with the letters RSS. Click on that button.
If you see a page of code in your browser window, don't worry, nothing is wrong - you're simply looking at the feed you just created. Copy that page's URL and paste it into your favorite feed reader.
Now you can be notified via your feed reader every time an item is posted on Craigslist that meets your criteria, without having to check the site every day to make sure you don't miss out.
Useful Craigslist links to remember
Craigslist is one of the best sites on the web for finding something you need and selling something you don't. Here are some of the most useful links at Craigslist.
Craigslist.org: this is the main starter page of Craigslist. Every city represented on Craigslist is here, including but not limited to:
Boston Craigslist
NYC Craigslist
San Diego Craigslist
Seattle Craigslist
Los Angeles Craigslist
Portland Craigslist
Craigslist Jobs: The best jobs can be found easily on Craigslist. All searchers need to do is find your city, then click on the job category that most interests you. Many job specialties are represented here, including non-profit, technical support, education, and more.
Craigslist Real Estate: Again, all you need to do is click on the city that you're interested in and find the "real estate" link. Many, many homes are bought and sold here.
Craigslist For Sale: Searchers will find all sorts of things bought and sold here, anything from bird cages to garage sales to entire sets of furniture.
Best of Craigslist: some of the most interesting Craigslist postings can be found here. However, some of these postings can be somewhat adult-oriented and therefore are not for sensitive or younger readers.
Craigslist Fact Sheet: get a quick overview of Craigslist and what it can do for you; includes interesting statistics and background information, for instance, did you know that "more than 10 million classified ads per month" are placed on Craigslist around the world?
Searching Craigslist
You can definitely use your local Craigslist's search fields to search for what you're looking for, but if you're looking beyond local and need something that does a little bit more than you'll want to check out SearchTempest.
SearchTempest lets you search as much or as little of Craigslist as you possibly would like, for any category, whether it be jobs, real estate, stuff for sale, etc. Here's how a basic search on SearchTempest works.
Key your location into the "Where" search field. Using the drop-down menu right beneath the search field, decide how far or near you'd like your search to the range. You have the option of just a few miles to anywhere Craigslist roams within Canada, the United States, or Mexico.
Type what you're looking for, say, a new iPhone or a leather couch or a new car, into the "What" field. You can get as advanced or as vague as you want to be here (note: usually, starting out a little vague rather than exceedingly detailed will bring back better search results).
Click "Search" and you'll see your results, which will start at the Craigslist closest to you and fan out from there. SearchTempest gives you quite a few options for manipulating your search results: you can map something, get directions, delete a location you don't want, sort by date, best price, best match, state, distance, size; you can even get an RSS feed for results you'd like to keep track of.
Craigslist: Get familiar with this online marketplace
Craigslist has been around for quite a while now, and while the site itself looks quite "low tech", the amount of information, communication, and collaboration it offers to millions of users all around the world is anything but. Use this article to familiarize yourself with Craigslist and see if there's something there that could be useful for you.

Site Review: What is Shopify?
Site Review: What is Shopify?
Shopify is an eCommerce platform that provides a one-stop-shop set of services for
individuals or companies to create an online store.
What is Shopify?
Shopify is a service designed to provide everything needed to set up, manage, and promote your online store. Shopify includes a website, web hosting with unlimited bandwidth, shopping cart, ability to take payments either through Shopify’s services or external payment processing options, options for shipping services, inventory management option, and a fully-responsive mobile version of your website for customers using smartphones or tablets.
What we like:
Free 14-day trial
Integrates easily with several social media services, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and Tumblr
Works for nearly any kind of shop category and doesn’t limit users to certain kinds of goods and services
Includes options for a blog and other content that attracts customers and improves search engine ranking
Mobile app makes it easy to manage your online store from anywhere
What we don’t like:
For someone who is completely new to the way websites are set-up and structured behind the scenes and hasn’t used a website-building service before, there could be a bit of a learning curve. Though the documentation and learning materials provided are easy to follow and user-friendly.
Any custom coding needed could be costly. Beyond the basic HTML and CSS, Shopify uses a unique programming language called Liquid. While Liquid is open source, its specific use for only Shopify limits the pool of programmers working with it so custom coding services might be costlier than more common coding options.
While their app store has lots of tools and features you can integrate into your Shopify, many of them have monthly fees that could add up quickly.
How is Shopify Different from Etsy or eBay?
Etsy and eBay are marketplace sites and don’t provide a separate website. Sellers get a shop or store front page with limited options to customize and promote their brand. The limitations are to keep consistency across the overall marketplace so shoppers recognize and are familiar with the site. Marketplace sites don’t allow for posting additional content such as blogs and in some cases, limit the types of items that can be sold through their service. For example, Etsy only allows vintage, handmade, and artisanal items and does not allow commercially manufactured products.
Many marketplace sites, such as eBay, have tons of fees and an often-confusing fee structure. Sellers on eBay pay a fee to list an item, an additional fee to add a written description, fees for eBay’s commission on every item sold, and transaction fees from payment processing services such as PayPal and credit card companies. As much as 13 to 15 percent of the sale goes to fees and commissions. Marketplace sites often limit customer reviews to rating the seller and might not allow customers to leave reviews of the actual products. Shopify allows customers to post reviews about individual products on your site.
Where marketplace sites like Etsy and eBay have the edge is they have a steady stream of customers who are already shoppers on their sites. They bring the customers in for sellers because they have name recognition and trust with consumers. With a separate website you have to actively promote your site and offerings to attract customers. However, Shopify includes tools and features to help you promote your site and depending on the type of items you sell, you may be able to also list your products on marketplace sites as well. Another consideration is with the number of sellers on marketplace sites, you could wind up competing against highly-rated sellers with demonstrated history on the site.
Shopify Competitors: Online Store Building Platforms
Separate from the marketplace discussion above, Shopify does have a few competitors when it comes to other services or platforms for building your online store. Let’s take a look at the top competitors and how they compare with Shopify:
Wix eCommerce and Weebly eCommerce: Wix and Weebly both offer ecommerce solutions that require zero coding and provide an easy drag-and-drop interface for the most non-technical of users. While these services focus on simplicity, they lose some of the more advanced (and very helpful) features offered by Shopify.
Magento and WooCommerce (with WordPress): Neither Magento or WooCommerce is intended or can serve as a one-stop-shop for building your online store. Both are open source offerings and require a higher degree of technical know-how, including setting up your own hosting service and custom coding (or hiring a developer to handle coding for you). While a very tech-savvy user might enjoy greater flexibility that comes with an open source solution, the average person would face a steep learning curve or hefty bill from a developer.
BigCommerce: Of the main competitors out there, BigCommerce is the most similar to Shopify in terms of providing a one-stop-shop, ability to add features from their respective app stores, being fairly user-friendly with 24/7 support, and similar pricing. Where Shopify gains the lead over BigCommerce is where they have more – more themes, more apps in their app store to add features and tools to run your business, and they have more experts for hire in their experts directory to help with everything from getting your store set up, customizing themes or designs, and best ways to market your business.
Is Shopify Legit?
Yes. They provide all of the services listed for each plan option, have all the proper security measures in place to protect both seller and customer information, and provide plenty of learning materials along with 24/7 support. Shopify has a robust app store of features and tools you can add on and over 100 website themes available at prices that range from free to around $200 (one-time fee). And if you don’t have a domain name (URL) for your website yet, you can purchase one through Shopify or use the myshopify.com domain name included with your monthly plan.
How Much is Shopify?
After the free 14-day trial, to continue with Shopify you’ll need to select one of their monthly service plans. The Basic Shopify plan is $29 per month; the Shopify plan is $79 per month; and the Advanced Shopify plan is $299 per month. You can also change your plan so your services grow along with your business. If you opt to include the Shopify POS services for in-person sales and payment processing, that is an additional monthly fee of $49. Shopify POS is an optional service that processes payments but also integrates the information from those offline sales with sales from your online store, keeping all of your sales tracking in one system.
How To Make Money With Traffic Exchanges
How To Make Money With Traffic Exchanges
A traffic exchange is a site where you can get new visitors to your web site in exchange for viewing the sites of other members. They can be considered analogous to Speed Dating for web sites, in which users rapidly view a number of sites and it's the job of the site owners and advertisers to present interesting material.
There are many hundreds of traffic exchange sites on the internet and finding the ones that are good can be difficult.
The key to using traffic exchanges effectively is understanding that the person will only be viewing your site for 10 - 20 seconds. Rather than sending the person to your regular home page, you should be sending them to a specific "landing page" or advertisement designed for traffic exchanges. Use this advertisement to create curiosity about your site. The most effective are squeeze pages or splash pages, which have a simple headline, description, and an opt-in form to receive future emails. Then the surfer can easily type their email address in and receive more information about your product or services at a later time. A main goal of using traffic exchanges should be to build your personal list of business prospects for now and future endeavors.
How Does It Work?
It's simple: You look at other people's blogs & sites, and then they look at yours.
Most programs require you to click a button every 6-30 seconds in order to view the next page and earn credits. There is usually some kind of security measure to prevent users from cheating by surfing too quickly. And to prevent bots, the user is often also required to enter a captcha code regularly while surfing. This means that the surfer is definitely going to see your material and click through to your site.
So How Do I Make Money?
Typically "surfers" will be directed to information about your product, a blog post, or an affiliate offer. Affiliate networks such as ClickBank and Clickbooth are especially well suited for use with traffic exchanges. Linkshare and Commission Junction are two others to try. Note that pay-per-click programs such as Google AdSense generally prohibit placements on traffic exchanges because their model is incentivized clicks, thus making it impossible for a user to simply "browse" offers.
Here Are Eight Steps To Get Started
- Take your time to understand the traffic exchange market and structure a campaign accordingly. Spend some time acquainting yourself with the various advertising mediums available such as full page views, banner and text ad displays and various other alternatives offered by a variety of traffic exchanges.
- Choose between five and ten highly ranked and used traffic exchanges and begin to build up advertising credits within these exchanges in preparation to launch your campaign. Try and allocate a set period of at least thirty minutes per day to this task.
- Begin designing and structuring your campaign which should include a splash page (a fast loading page with a simple message prompting the surfer to open your site in a new window), a squeeze or lead capture page (a page designed with the sole purpose of getting the viewer to request more information from you via email) and a well written email follow up campaign that stays on message while offering the reader genuine help and assistance. Several squeeze and splash pages should be designed so that you can track effectiveness and constantly be able to adjust your pages for better results.
- Set up an tracking mechanism to track splash page effectiveness. This can be done via Google Analytics, by reading your server log files, or there are specific ad tracking services available.
- Set some realistic goals based on a formula that every lead you generate should be worth on average at least $1 per month to you.
- Start your campaign and analyze the effectiveness of your message. If no one is jumping, you can create a new ad or edit your existing one.
- Continually monitor results and tweak accordingly to realize profit.
- Consider ramping up profitable campaign by buying advertising credits.

How much money do bloggers really make?
Let’s paint a brief and probably all-too-familiar picture of where you might be at right now…
**Phone alarm goes off**
You don’t move. Your brain registers that the alarm is ringing, but you remain curled up in the warm bed, thinking only of staying.
“Do I really have to leave?”
“Why do we need jobs anyway?”
"5 more minutes, mommm”
Then it registers – You’re grown adult now and you HAVE to get up.
Boooooooo.
You get out of the bed, use the bathroom, brush your teeth.
Throw on clothes and get yourself “together.”
**Check the clock**
Somehow, you are already late…
Grab a quick breakfast and coffee and it’s off to work.
You show up. Piddle around for an hour (check Facebook) before actually opening up your work inbox.
It’s not like you hate your job. Working isn’t something you mind terribly and you’re certainly not lazy. You actually do pretty well for yourself.
It’s just that you feel that there has GOT to be something more than this.
This cannot be it.
Is this all my life is going to be??
You hop on Google and start reading success after success story about bloggers. Reading how they make nauseatingly good money from blogging makes you feel inspired and motivated.
You’re ready to start blogging.
But just as you are getting re-inspired – a new project hits your desk.
Thoughts of seeing yourself lying on the beach in Nicaragua, and working from home start to fade away.
The day slips away quickly once you dig into the project.
The workday ends.
You drive home through traffic and get home exhausted.
Perhaps you might even try to work on something when you get home but realize your job has sucked away all your creative energy.
You eat dinner. You hit the pillow.
Repeat.
Repeat.
Then you wake up one day and decide "This day is different - This day is MINE"
What are you going to do with your day? Let me tell you what I did with mine...
I started a blog and never looked back!
No it was not easy at first.
No I didn't make any money from day one.
No I am still not rich!
But after a lot of time and a lot of mistakes I am learning how to make money doing something I enjoy!
The first thing I encourage you to do is read this article
*note: I have no association with the author of this blog. I found this information with a google search and it simply changed my life so I felt compelled to share it with you. This blog is FULL of useful information and infographs that can assist you in launching your first blog without hours and days lost in research.
